NFL FanDuel: Week 7 WR Targets – (Early Only)

Cooper Kupp – $7,800 – (GPP)

I tried pretty hard to fit Kupp in cash games this week, but after hearing Barkley was ready to return and he has little doubt he is ready for a full workload, I had to stack up the big volume backs. Kupp has been lights out while fellow WR’s Brandin Cooks and Robert Woods are seeing massive declines in production compared to last season, and this high powered offense from last year just is not living up to the bill this season.

The Rams have lost three straight, and they will head to Atlanta to face a Falcons defense that has given up 87 points over the last two games, just what they need to right the ship. Kupp is second in the league with 45 receptions as he emerges as Jared Goff‘s favorite target, and he has amassed 522 yards with four touchdowns through six games. Last season Kupp was only healthy for eight games, and he posted a 40-566-6 line. The 26-year-old is well on his way to his first career 100 catch season if he can stay healthy. For GPP’s, Kupp is my favorite WR play on this 1 PM only slate, with T.Y. Hilton a close second.

Larry Fitzgerald – $5,600 – (Cash)

We need touchdowns in DFS, and one thing the veteran Fitzy is not doing is finding the end zone. The season started with a bang as Fitzgerald was targeted 24 times, hauling in 13 passes for 217 yards and a TD, and after he scored again in week 3, he has not visited the end zone in three weeks, nor has he had a 100-yard game. Last week looked like our best shot at some points as the Cards faced Atlanta, but Fitz somewhat disappointed with just 6 catches for 69 yards.

However, I am not giving up on Kyler Murray’s top option just yet. It sounds like the Cardinals are going to take it slow with Christian Kirk and he is expected to remain out this week, and Arizona has an arguably better match-up this week against the Giants than they did last week against the Falcons. I think Fitzy will be a problem for the G-Men this week, as I think Murray gets back to looking his way as often as he did in weeks one and two.

Allen Lazard – $4,500 – (Cash/GPP)

It is certainly a risk to play a guy you likely have never heard in cash games, so I’ll slap him with the dual tag, but this could end up a free square in all formats this week depending on the Packers WR injury situation. Lazard was a practice squad player last season as an undrafted rookie out of Iowa State where he holds the school records for receptions and receiving yards. He is a big target at 6’5″, and after he scored the go-ahead touchdown in last Monday night, Aaron Rodgers looked his way a few extra times down the stretch, and finished the game with 65 yards on four catches.

Davante Adams has not yet practiced since hurting his toe but was quoted as saying he feels “a million” times better this week as opposed to last. Geronimo Allison and Marquez Valdes-Scantling both suffered concussions and left last week’s game, and they both remain sidelined and are yet to clear protocol.

Green Bay signed veteran Ryan Grant this week to play behind Jake Kumerow and Lazard, and if two out of three these WR’s sit out Lazard could be looking at a full allotment of snaps. You don’t find that in a min price WR who has Aaron Rodgers throwing to him as possibly the top option very often if ever, and when the inactives come out for this game Sunday morning, you should be prepared to adjust accordingly.
