As we hit Week 7 of the NFL season, several struggling teams need to figure out a way to get another taste of victory before their 2019 campaigns spiral completely out of control.

The margin between victory and defeat in the NFL is razor thin, and the difference between winning and losing for an NFL team is massive. Wins bring victory Mondays, optimism for the players and coaching staff, and one step closer to potential postseason play.

Losses often drag down morale, incite a measure of panic within the fan base, and ratchet up the pressure to find a way back into the winner’s circle. As the season inches closer to the halfway point, these five teams find themselves in need of a win this Sunday, beginning with the New York Giants.

5. New York Giants

The hype train has crashed down to Earth for Giants rookie quarterback Daniel Jones over the past two weeks. After having some success against Tampa Bay and Washington, Jones faced real defenses and struggled against the Vikings and Patriots.

The Giants lost both games, but due to some incredible good fortune find themselves just a game out of the NFC East lead. The second half schedule toughens up again, but the Giants have an opportunity here to make things interesting in the division, making Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals a must-win affair.

The Cardinals have won two games in a row, but they are also starting a rookie quarterback and have a defense that has gotten lit up for most of the season. With this game being at MetLife Stadium, the Giants need to get a home victory to keep their division title hopes alive.
