Quarterback Joe Burrow has had an amazing season thus far for the LSU Tigers. Seven games into the season, he just set a school record for touchdown passes.

The Legend of Joe Burrow grows by the second. The LSU Tigers superstar quarterback has lit the college football world on fire with his brilliant passing abilities in 2019. With new passing game coordinator Joe Brady on the LSU coaching staff, Burrow has taken the Bayou Bengals’ passing game to unprecedented levels.

On the road against the SEC West rival Mississippi State Bulldogs, Burrow threw two touchdown passes in early in the third quarter to give LSU a 36-7 lead in Starkville. The first of the pair of aerial strikes tied a school record for most touchdown passes in a season by an LSU signal-caller. The latter broke the LSU record in only seven ball games this campaign. This is unbelievable stuff.

While this may be Burrow’s second of only two possible seasons at LSU, becoming the Tigers’ all-time touchdown passing leader in a season certainly gives him credibility to be the greatest quarterback in LSU school history. Including their upcoming bowl game, Burrow will have presumably six more contests at minimum to climb up the LSU passing record books.

LSU will cruise to 7-0 this season after its thorough road stomping of Mississippi State. They’ll take on Auburn next week in the Tiger Bowl before going on bye before their biggest game of the season versus the Alabama Crimson Tide. That game versus Alabama will likely decide which team will represent the SEC West in the conference championship game.

Should LSU get to that conference title bout, that would mean at minimum 14 games this season for the Bayou Bengals. If LSU can reach the College Football Playoff for the first time in school history, Burrow has a shot at playing in 15 games this season as the Tigers’ signal-caller before going pro. If that’s the case, he will without question be the best quarterback in LSU history.

The reason for this is that LSU would be presumably undefeated or maybe have one loss on its résumé. One would think that a perfect regular season or an 11-1 campaign will get Burrow to the Heisman Trophy presentation in early December. Burrow will surely garner a ton of awards this season, which will only add to his impressive legacy while at LSU. Congratulations on No. 29!
