Fantasy football picks: Week 7 MNF Patriots vs. Jets

For game theory, we have to expect right out of the gate that Tom Brady is the highest owned MVP play on the night. He obviously has the most upside, with the safest floor so he makes perfect sense in cash games. You can pivot off him right to Julian Edelman, who also has a high floor and high ceiling. He can be used as the MVP in cash or GPP games, but make sure you play Brady with him either way. My top GPP MVP is James White. He is going to be very low owned in that spot, has a pretty high ceiling, but a very low floor. This is about as true of a GPP play as it gets, but if you want to hit for some big money, you have to take a little risk.

Game theory is something that I have had to really work on going into this season, and it really takes your game to the next level once you start to get the hang of it. With single-game slates, game theory is a little bit different due to the 1.5x MVP point slot. Usually, this spot is used for the most popular play on the slate, which is normally a quarterback. However, I will tell you a little secret, very rarely do chalk MVP quarterbacks win you a single game tourney.

With that being said, in cash games you have to be a little more conservative, which I why I always recommend playing multiple GPP lineups instead of one cash lineup in these. That allows you to play much less conservative, take more chances, and have a better chance at hitting for the big one that we are all chasing.
