FanDuel NBA Breakdown – Cash Core

LeBron James (11,400) – What would a cash core be without the king himself? LeBron of course led this team in usage rate, at 31.9% logging almost 2,000 minutes, averaging 1.48 FPM. The problem for this season is how does the addition of superstar Anthony Davis impact his overall performance? I would expect him to slightly decline in the scoring department, and by slightly I do mean very slightly. It is not the first time LeBron has had to share the court with another superstar though. He most recently had played with Kyrie Irving in Cleveland, and anytime in the past he was paired with another superstar, he just increases his peripheral stats. Davis will take pressure off him, and allow James to dish out more assists, which is really his bread and butter. This is a very obvious cash game play especially on a smaller slate.

Anthony Davis (12,100) – At a slightly increased price, we have the glass man himself. Davis is a monster anytime he can actually take the court, he will demand the ball early and often on the offensive side, and rack up blocks, and rebounds on defense. People often forget how good Davis is on defense, as he is actually one of the best defenders in the league. One reason he should be in your lineups is the fact that the Clippers had a big problem containing big men last season. Montrezl Harrell is a good up and coming big man, but he is undersized at the center spot, and JaMychal Green is also a little bit small, none of which cannot guard AD. He should be able to feast on the boards, and easily score at will in this game.

Lou Williams (6,200) – This is the perfect buy-low spot on “Sweet Lou” who has won the sixth man of the year basically every season over the past five years. Now there are a few new faces in town that will certainly cut into that massive 32% usage rate that Lou had last year, but he is far too cheap for me to just glaze over him. The Lakers had trouble defending three point shooters last season, and that is what Williams so happens to do best. He will come off the bench, but should log around 25 minutes, which is all he needs to put up 30 fantasy points and hit value for us.
