The NFL Trade Deadline is fast approaching and quite a few teams need help. Here are five deals that should happen to boost teams in 2019.

Quite a few NFL teams have already started to make deals to sure up their roster ahead of the deadline. Fans should expect more action in the near future though. Plenty of franchises feel like they are just a player or two away from becoming legitimate Super Bowl contenders.

There are also a handful of teams that know they’re hopelessly out of the playoff race. Those teams will be looking to offload veterans for draft assets that might help them contend in future years. Without further delay, let’s discuss five deals that should happen as soon as possible.

5. Austin Hooper to the Seahawks

Losing tight end Will Dissly for the year was referred to as a “devastating” injury by Seahawks coach Pete Carroll. It’s hard to argue with his logic, Dissly was one of Russell Wilson’s favorite receivers. Finding a quality replacement should be a priority for Seattle’s front office.

Hooper likely represents the top potential realistic option for the Seahawks. The Falcons are obviously going nowhere in 2019, but Hooper is enjoying a really solid season. He’s not a great in-line blocker, but he can help the Seahawks offense stretch the field down the seam.

Atlanta also lacks the cap flexibility to re-sign Hooper in the offseason. It’s now or never if they want to get a meaningful asset in exchange for his services. Recouping a solid draft pick would help kick-start the long rebuild for the Falcons.
