The Top 25 saw a top-10 team lose for a third week in a row as the Week 10 college football rankings welcome Penn State into the top-five.

It had the feel of one of those weeks early on Saturday afternoon as Oklahoma went to Manhattan looking to remain perfect on the season but Kansas State pulled off the shocking upset. This marked the third week in a row a top-10 team lost to an unranked team.

Jalen Hurts still had a big game, but falling behind 48-23 late in the second half was the nail in the coffin. Oklahoma nearly pulled off the incredible comeback, scoring 18 straight points and recovering what looked to be a huge onside kick but it was ruled illegal touching and the game was over like that.

Ohio State dismantled Wisconsin, Penn State handled Michigan State and Minnesota remained undefeated to pace the Big Ten West. Michigan and Notre Dame renewed their rivalry with the Wolverines scoring a big win over the Fighting Irish to turn down the heat on Jim Harbaugh’s seat, at least temporarily.

In the ACC, it remains Clemson and no one else, but Louisville could crack the Top 25 if voters are impressed by their win over Virginia.

As for the Big 12, things got even crazier in the afternoon with Texas losing at TCU and Tom Herman is receiving plenty of criticism because the Longhorns are not, in fact, back. Iowa State also lost to fall out of the Top 25 after Oklahoma State handed them their third loss of the season.

Ed Orgeron’s LSU Tigers were able to overcome a late deficit to win at home 23-20 over the Auburn Tigers in the big SEC game of the week. LSU and Alabama will have next week off before they meet in Tuscaloosa as No. 1 and No. 2 for the first time since 2011.

Here’s how we project the AP Top 25 for Week 10 will look when released at 2 p.m. ET on Sunday, Oct. 27.
