Fantasy football players! We are almost halfway through the NFL regular season. Which players should you start in week eight to begin your championship run?

Another surprise-filled week for fantasy football is what characterized week seven of the NFL season. The top two PPR fantasy receivers? Marvin Jones and Zach Pascal. Just as everyone expected. The top two running backs? Chase Edmonds and Latavius Murray, of course.

Not so surprising, the top quarterback was “that bad man”, Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers lit up the Raiders on his way to the top spot among fantasy contributors in week seven with 43.8 ESPN fantasy points.

Unfortunately for many season-long fantasy players, they were likely unable to take advantage of these breakout performances by these under-the-radar or fill-in players. Let’s be honest. If you started Marvin Jones last week, you were likely doing so because you were in a bind due to injuries and/or bye weeks, or you were in a deeper league. If you started Chase Edmonds with David Johnson active, you should call up ESPN and ask for a job as an insider because clearly you knew something that the rest of us did not (that Johnson would get the first carry and then only play “if needed” the rest of the game).

I’ll briefly reflect on the accuracy of my rankings from last week at each position, but if you’d like to compare for yourself, you can find last week’s article here and ESPN’s weekly scoring leaders here.

Thank you for taking the time to read this article, and I hope it helps you decide who to start in your season-long lineups or gives you an idea of who I may like as DFS plays this week.
