Weeks after the New Jersey Devils were trolled via Twitter by the Philadelphia Flyers and Gritty, Jersey strikes back just in time for the rivals’ second meeting this season.

It’s been a scary start to the 2019-20 regular season for the New Jersey Devils and their fan base. Jersey’s team has managed to collect a mere two wins through the team’s first nine games and nothing seems to be going their way.

The Devils were even trolled hard over Twitter prior to, and during, the team’s third game of the year when they visited the Philadelphia Flyers. New Jersey was shut out 4-0, while the Flyers also had their way with Jersey over Twitter.

Philadelphia’s beloved Gritty came out strong with the first punch, but the Devils struck back in large thanks to defenseman P.K. Subban and his fiancée, Lindsay Vonn.

After the notable mascot took a shot at Subban and Vonn, the Devils posted a comical response weeks later on Sunday afternoon, which also included the team’s mascot in the mix.

It’s nice to see that the Devils responded in some form, especially considering that the team’s Twitter account didn’t have any firepower to fight back that week when Jersey was 0-2-2.

The Devils are still struggling on the ice, but it appears they’re bonding off the ice and are finding ways to keep the fans entertained while poking fun at some of their biggest rivals.

If you were to look at the responses from the tweet, it seems that the fans are also embracing their newest blue-liner in Subban.

The hope was that Subban would bring more stability and star power to the team’s defensive core, but No. 76 has also brought on a spotlight to the franchise and one the Devils have arguably never experienced before.

Gritty and the Flyers are on the clock for their reaction, and it may come sooner than later when the teams face off for the second time this season on Friday night at the Prudential Center.
