Eagles D/ST

The Eagles defense stepped up and shut down the Bills offense. They held Buffalo’s offense to 13 points while racking up four sacks and a fumble recovery. The team made a move to improve the front line by trading for Genard Avery.

The Eagles face the Bears in week 9. Mitch Trubisky did not look good in week 8, throwing an interception and losing a fumble. The Eagles should be able to pressure him on their way to another good performance.

Lions D/ST

Despite allowing 26 points to the Giants, the Lions defense was able to score 10 fantasy points by scoring a touchdown, recording three sacks and recovering a fumble.

Whether they trade Darius Slay or not could affect their performance but a matchup against the Raiders will help. While Derek Carr had his best game this season, he still averages 14.37 points per game.

Broncos D/ST

The Broncos defense hasn’t looked good in their last two games, scoring a combined 10 fantasy points. But, thankfully, they play the Browns in week 9. The Patriots defense, while they are in a class of their own this season, scored a touchdown, sacked Baker Mayfield five times, picked him off once and recovered a fumble.

The Broncos defense has recorded multiple sacks in a game this season. With Mayfield regressing, this defense is worth the pickup, even if it’s just for one week.

After a quiet two weeks, this week’s waiver wire post is full of talent. It also helps that four teams are on a bye, giving a value boost to players who otherwise wouldn’t be worth adding.
