Scrubs
Kendrick Nunn (vs. ATL – $6,000 on DK; $6,000 on FD): The return of Butler is going to complicate things for the Heat. But I’m of the belief that it will be Winslow who suffers more than Nunn. Nunn will continue to initiate offense and look to create on his own, which will give Butler a bit of a rest. The Hawks are on a back-to-back as well and played a tough one against the Sixers.
Dwight Howard (vs. MEM – $5,000 on DK; $5,300 on FD): Howard is doing exactly what he’s been asked to do in Los Angeles and it’s working out great. He may not start, but he’s supplanted McGee as the top center on the team. As long as he keeps playing within himself, he’s going to be rewarded for the other veterans on the Lakers. A double-double is always in play for him.
Dillon Brooks (at LAL – $4,100 on DK; $4,700 on FD): I’m going to assume Ja Morant will play as he’s listed as probable, but if he doesn’t, look for Brooks to step up. And if Morant does play, less attention will be on Brooks. The Lakers are obviously good, but their defense remains questionable. And the days of Grit And Grind are over as this Memphis team can score.
Dorian Finney-Smith (at DEN – $3,400 on DK; $4,000 on FD): Finney-Smith is unlikely to put up big numbers, but he’s a cheap option who gets minutes and is consistent with his numbers. The Nuggets are on a back-to-back and Finney-Smith plays hard. Also be wary of guys with fresh legs against tired teams.
Jae Crowder (at LAL – $5,200 on DK; $5,600 on FD): Crowder has been hot to start for Memphis. I’ve always loved his game because he does a bit of everything and on a young Memphis squad, Crowder knows how to play the right way. And the Grizzlies utilize him in the right way, allowing him to initiate offense and get on the boards. He’ll hurt the Lakers with his energy if nothing else.
