Fantasy football picks: Week 9 FanDuel GPP breakdown
Hunter Henry – I feel like each and every week the tight-end spot gets more difficult to play. While I do suggest playing Kelce in cash games, he is looking like some serious chalk, which means in GPP’s we will have to look elsewhere. Henry is the next best option outside of the top two popular plays and has been seeing some steady work in his return from injury. He recently logged 87% of the offensive snaps, so the workload is no longer an issue for him. Green Bay has been pretty solid against the pass all season long, but they do have one weakness, and that is against tight-ends. They give up the seventh most points against them, and if I know anything about how Phillip Rivers likes to run plays, it is that he will do his best to expose the opposing team’s weakness as much as possible. I would expect a decent amount of red-zone looks for Hunter here, and he could end up being the highest-scoring tight-end of the week if all the stars align come Sunday.
Jonnu Smith – With Walker’s status up in the air for Sunday, I would not be surprised if the Titans waited one more week, and let Jonnu get some extra run again at tight-end. He looked really well last week, playing 73% of the snaps, and catching six of his targets, for 78 yards and a score. He showed good chemistry with Ryan Tannehill and could be a main red-zone target for him once again. Carolina was just lit up by the San Francisco offense, and Jonnu is just too cheap on FanDuel this week.
