As we reach the halfway point of the NFL season, a few teams in crisis mode need a victory in the worst way as enter Week 9.

The football season is fun and fast, and that holds true this week. After the action wraps up in Week 9, every team in the league will have played at least half of their schedule, meaning we’re just over three months away from the Super Bowl.

While there are some clear contenders for the Lombardi Trophy, there are other teams that simply need a victory to avoid a crisis. As we do every week here at FanSided, we have identified the five teams most desperate for a win in Week 9, beginning with the New York Jets.

5. New York Jets

The Jets are a team that is in absolute turmoil right now. The wheels have fallen off quickly, with the Jets at 1-6 after seven games thanks to an offensive line that can’t block, a secondary that can’t cover, regression from Sam Darnold, and a disastrously bad coach in Adam Gase.

Things have gotten worse thanks to the way the Jets clumsily handled the trade deadline, with Jamal Adams refusing to talk to GM Joe Douglas and Gase after he was shopped. With chaos circling Florham Park, the schedule gives the Jets a game against the tanking Dolphins, who will be highly motivated to stick it to their former coach.

This contest is very much a get-right game for the Jets, who need to win it to calm the waters around the building for the time being. If the Dolphins somehow walk away from Sunday’s game with a win, things could get nuclear around the Jets going forward.
