FanDuel NBA breakdown – Cash Core

Russell Westbrook (10,200) – While Russ does take a slight backseat to Harden in terms of his usage rate, at 25.9%, he is still scoring at a 1.58 FPM rate. That actually leads the team, and is mostly a result of his ability to rack up triple doubles at an enormous rate, along with steals as well. The reason I am listing Westbrook in the cash core instead of Harden, is due to pricing, and I like to pay up at point guard, and pay down at shooting guard most of the time. I will be looking to pay up with possibly both of my point guard spots tonight, and Russ is too cheap for the upside he offers.

LeBron James (10,800) – Anytime we can get the king at less than 11k I will have plenty of interest. It is looking like Davis will play, which is a slight disappointment, but I still like James with Davis on the floor, as he has a 31.5% usage rate, and 1.38 FPM. Both of those numbers would increase if Davis would sit, or inevitably go to the locker room. This match-up between him, and Luka will be one of the best all season long, and these two are going to rack up big points in this game.

Tristan Thompson (7,800) – It is finally time that I buy into the Thompson hype, especially when the position is weak, and the Pacers are without Myles Turner. He has a 22% usage rate, and 1.26 FPM. This is still Kevin Love‘s team, but Thompson looks like he has made some improvements during the off-season. He has a double-double in each game, logging on average 33 minutes, and has multiple blocks in two of the four games, including five last game. I am locking in Tristan and not looking back.
