Other developments

In terms of other developments, there’s a few. After not seeing her since she defeated Tegan Nox about a month ago, Kay Lee Ray appears to deliver a promo. Ray lays into Toni Storm, calling her a loser with no friends who lost her championship to boot. You know, they keep bringing up Toni Storm on a fairly regular basis that it seems like she might actually come back at some point. But for now, she remains MIA. *Gasp* unless she won’t be coming back because she’s a ggggggGHOOOST!!!

With her last bit of Toni Storm business out of the way, Ray moves on to NXT UK’s only roster member who uses a handheld camcorder despite being born after 1970, Xia Brookside. In a vlog last week, Brookside talked about Kay Lee Ray cheating and stealing a victory in the “historic first-ever NXT UK women’s battle royal” ‚— and the title of No. 1 Contender — from her. According to Ray though, she didn’t cheat. No, in reality she’s just smart. There’s no real rules in a battle royal, so she just waited for her opportunity and seized it.

And look at her now, NXT UK women’s champion. Meanwhile, Brookside is mostly hanging out at the UK Performance Center recording videos on outdated technology that she then presumably has to mail in to the production team so they can edit it in to the episode?

Killer Kelly is interviewed where she talks about finally being cleared for competition again. She also talks about how, in order to actually be put into competition in NXT UK you need to pick a fight. Isla Dawn coincidentally walks by in the background, so Kelly puts in her mouthpiece to go follow her and pick a fight. Or kill her, it’s kind of unclear.

On the tag team front, next week we will be getting another match between Grizzled Young Veterans and Mark Andrews/Flash Morgan Webster. Yes, it’s former champs versus former champs, only this time there’s absolutely nothing on the line. Well, maybe pride and honor, those are technically “things” that can be pretty important to people. Intangible things, but things nonetheless.

Gallus give a pre-taped promo where they basically reiterate what they talked about with Imperium face-to-face last week. Imperium may be great, but they don’t have all the gold, which is Gallus practically begging to get their heads kicked in and gold taken, but okay please keep going on about that fact. The tag team titles were a big score and they’re ready for another one. Don’t forget, it’s their kingdom.

Speaking of Imperium, the last thing we see this episode is a “developing situation” between Alexander Wolfe and Ilja Dragunov. Wolfe won’t divulge to the backstage interviewer what they’re talking about, but then pretty much says it all in about 10 seconds for NXT UK cameras to film. He’s still trying to compel Ilja to join Imperium, telling him how great of a career move it would be. Or, Ilja could reject them and it could be an absolutely terrible decision for him, wink wink nudge nudge we’re going to come into your home and beat you up.

As Wolfe walks off, Ilja goes to stop him but ends up stopping himself. So much conflicted fury raging in this guy’s head! Hope he sorts it out without exploding due to overload.

That will do it for this recap of an NXT UK that occurred on an ordinary Thursday outside of space and time. Should Jordan Devlin be next in line for a United Kingdom Championship match? Excited to see more of what A-Kid can do? Know the exact whereabouts of Toni Storm?

Let us know your thoughts on those questions or anything related to NXT UK down in the comments below. And if you happened to enjoy anything you read here today, please give us a share on social media. Until next time, keep it spooky even though it’s November.
