Jon Moxley is facing Kenny Omega in an unsanctioned, lights-out match at AEW Full Gear on Saturday, Nov. 9.

The wrestling world has been waiting for Jon Moxley versus Kenny Omega since the former left WWE. The match was supposed to happen at All Out on August 31, but had to be postponed when Moxley got MRSA. Moxley was understandably angry, but Omega was just as angry that the match wasn’t happening.

Back at Double or Nothing, Moxley attacked Omega after his match with Chris Jericho. This set up the match at All Out. Omega had been waiting since May to get his revenge. When that didn’t happen, he cut a blistering promo on Moxley for not being able to compete.

When “The Purveyor of Violence” was cleared to return, he wasted no time going after Omega. He lived up to his moniker when he put Omega through a glass coffee table on the Oct. 2 episode of Dynamite. The following week, “The Cleaner” surprised Moxley with a barbed wire broom and a barbed wire bat (a weapon that Moxley used in WWE). It appeared the two were finally going to go at it when PAC attacked Omega from behind.

The two finally got in the ring with each other, albeit in a tag match. PAC joined Moxley to face Omega and Adam “Hangman” Page. Moxley and Omega did get to face each other a bit. Omega hit PAC with a vicious V-Trigger to set up the Dead Eye for Page to get the win.

After the actions from Moxley, AEW President Tony Khan decided that Moxley versus Omega would be an unsanctioned, lights-out match. Since the match doesn’t count towards either wrestler’s win/loss record, Moxley believes that Khan is “protecting his boy,” Omega. The news of the match stipulation did not sit well with Moxley at all. Moxley went to the ring to deliver a scathing promo in response.

Suffice to say, there’s a lot of bad blood and pent up frustration from both men. It will all finally come out this Saturday night at Full Gear. This match could be the most violent one in AEW’s history thus far.

What do you think of the match stipulation? Who do you think will win? Let us know in the comments.
