All Elite Wrestling held its final pay-per-view of 2019 on Saturday night, Full Gear, in Baltimore. Here are the results, including Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega closing out the show in bloody, brutal fashion.

Buy In pre-show

Bea Priestley vs. Britt Baker

Britt Baker had the flu but still competed; hopefully Bea Priestley had her flu shot already. Baker picked up the win via Lock Jaw, getting the revenge she’s been seeking.

After the match, Awesome Kong and Brandi Rhodes arrived. Kong hit Priestley with a spinning back fist and handed a knife to Rhodes.

After flattening Priestley, Kong and Rhodes cut a chunk of Priestley’s hair to take as a trophy.

Full Gear main card

Proud and Powerful vs. The Young Bucks

As is AEW custom, the first main card match is tag team action, with Proud and Powerful (Santana and Ortiz), representing The Inner Circle, taking on The Elite’s Young Bucks. The Rock n Roll Express, whom Santana and Ortiz attacked a few weeks back on Dynamite, were ringside.

The story of the match was Nick Jackson’s right leg, injured early in the match when he kicked the ring post. That prevented them from hitting Best Meltzer Ever as well as More Bang For Your Buck. Santana and Ortiz picked up the win via Street Sweeper.

Afterward, Sammy Guevara came to the ring, live streaming, to celebrate and to beat down The Bucks with a sock loaded with baseballs. The Rock n Roll Express came to The Bucks’ assistance, getting the better of The Inner Circle trio.

Hangman Page vs. PAC

Bad blood is a theme throughout all of Full Gear, including the third match in an ongoing series between Hangman Adam Page and PAC.

After a brutal back-and-forth, Page won via Deadeye in somewhat of a surprise victory. This marks PAC’s first AEW loss.

Shawn Spears (w/ Tully Blanchard) vs. Joey Janela

Shawn Spears came to the ring in a “No More Garbage Wrestling” shirt meant to mock Joey Janela and his indie wrestling pedigree. Spears eventually tied Janela’s hair to the turnbuckle via the tag rope, trapping him in the corner until Janela ripped it away. Ouch.

Tully Blanchard eventually assisted by distracting referee Earl Hebner, which allowed Spears to remove a turnbuckle pad, as well as did the spiking in a spike piledriver on the outside of the ring. Back inside, Spears had the advantage and won with a brainbuster.

Private Party vs. Lucha Bros vs. SCU (c), AEW Tag Team Championship match

SCU were represented by Scorpio Sky and Frankie Kazarian in their first defense of the AEW Tag Team Championships. This was just about as crazy as one would expect given the teams involved.

SCU picked up the victory against Private Party’s Isiah Kassidy, retaining the titles. Afterward, Lucha Bros attacked SCU, who were then accosted by another Pentagon who ultimately turned out to be Christopher Daniels. These two teams still have unfinished business.

Emi Sakura vs. Riho (c), AEW Women’s World Championship match

As noted, Emi Sakura was Riho’s trainer and will now challenge her former student for the AEW Women’s Championship.

Riho was ultimately able to stack up Sakura for a win after a brutal match and retained her title.

Cody vs. Chris Jericho (c), AEW World Championship match

As per stipulations and announcements, if Cody vs. Jericho goes 60 minutes, a three-person judging panel will determine the winner. If Cody loses, he will not challenge for the AEW Championship ever again. Stakes, they are high. Arn Anderson, Dean Malenko and The Great Muta are the judges.

Unsurprisingly, the very blond Cody opted for blood, via hitting his head on the metal ramp. Cody’s goal, meanwhile, was to neutralize Jericho’s elbow in order to avoid being hit by the Judas Effect.

Jericho eventually grabbed the title belt and hit Cody with it behind Aubrey Edwards’ back, but it wasn’t enough. Neither was Cody’s subsequent Cross Rhodes, serving as a Judas Effect counter; another two count. Cody also hit his dad’s Bionic Elbow for another two count.

Jericho hit a Judas Effect — again, a two count, with Cody kicking out. Cody also managed to make his way to the ropes while tied up in a Liontamer/Walls of Jericho.

Another super-deep Liontamer/WOJ mid-ring, including Jericho kicking Cody in the head while in the submission, led to MJF — who accompanied and cornered for Cody — throwing in the towel. Jericho retains the championship. Cody was perplexed mid-ring, as he knows he didn’t give up. MJF was beside himself.

Cody seemed to accept MJF’s apology … and then, it finally happened. MJF, with a low-blow, turned on Cody, an inevitability but still shocking nonetheless as we never quite knew when it would come.

Whew.

Jon Moxley vs. Kenny Omega, lights-out, unsanctioned match

To close the show is the lights-out, unsanctioned match between Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega, which we’ve been waiting months to see. How was it? It was chaotic and bloody, of course, and featured numerous weapons, including the barbed wire-wrapped broom and baseball bat, a large chain, a board full of mousetraps, an awl or ice pick, tables and a bag of broken glass.

https://twitter.com/tde_wrestling/status/1193381367465304064

At one point, Moxley had to crawl through the broken glass to reach the ropes to break up Omega’s Sharpshooter. Omega then called out The Young Bucks and Adam Page to bring him something. They were reluctant but did it anyway and out a large frame of barbed wire. They countered spots before both men fell into it via suplex.

https://twitter.com/tde_wrestling/status/1193385843588763648

Omega kicked out of a Paradigm Shift and Moxley headed outside of the ring to remove the ring canvas and expose the wood under the canvas and pads. The two again traded counters until Omega hit Moxley’s Paradigm Shift on Moxley; two count. Moxley then rolled out of the way of a Phoenix splash and Omega crashed onto the wood.

An elevated Paradigm Shift led to Moxley winning the match. Whew (again).

And that’s a wrap. Let us know what you thought of Full Gear in the comments below.
