Welcome to Studs, Scrubs, and Duds; FanSided’s daily fantasy NBA lineup helper.

Here’s what’s on the slate for tonight:

7 p.m. ET: Oklahoma City at Indiana, Cleveland at Philadelphia
7:30 p.m. ET: Detroit at Miami
8 p.m. ET: New York at Chicago
9 p.m. ET: Brooklyn at Utah, Atlanta at Denver, LA Lakers at Phoenix
10 p.m. ET: Portland at Sacramento

How this works:

Studs: Top high salary picks that you can build your lineup around.
Scrubs: Value players looking for a big night or consistent options to help fill out your lineup.
Duds: Players to avoid given their high salary and/or poor matchup.

Five players are picked on each slide, positions are not applicable, and both DraftKings and FanDuel salaries are listed.

Studs

LeBron James (at PHO – $10,500 on DK; $11,500 on FD): Whether Anthony Davis plays or not, LeBron is carrying the load for the Lakers. The loss of Davis could hurt LeBron because even a banged up Davis is still worth keeping an eye on and opens up opening things up for LeBron. But no Davis is still going to benefit LeBron as he’ll run the show even more than he already does. Expect him to be the top scorer on the night.

Jimmy Butler (vs DET – $7,800 on DK; $9,400 on FD): The Pistons are on a back-to-back and even though Butler can be inconsistent with his scoring, he usually does enough to boost his overall value. This feels like a big night for Butler given the circumstances for the Pistons. Expect a big performance out of him.

Buddy Hield (vs POR – $6,600 on DK; $7,000 on FD): No De’Aaron Fox means more responsibility for will on Hield. He’s been a bit all over the place but the Portland defense hasn’t been good this season and we know Hield can light it up. He’s at a nice salary compared to other guys in the field like McCollum and Murray and the circumstances line up for him.

Lauri Markkanen (vs NY – $6,400 on DK; $7,200 on FD): Markkanen has been disappointing for the majority of this season but I have to trust him against the Knicks. For all the talk that the Knicks were going to play hard this season, that lasted about a week. Markkanen can light it up and chip in with rebounds. Play the circumstances and Markkanen’s ceiling.

Rudy Gobert (vs BKN – $7,500 on DK; $8,200 on FD): Gobert can be hit-and-miss since he’s not always a big scorer, but the Nets defense has been abysmal and they are ranked poorly against the center position. Gobert should gobble rebounds and find enough points in the paint. Expect his defense to be there as well.
