Alabama lost to LSU and their playoff hopes may be over so you can bet they’re going to unleash the fury against Mississippi State on Saturday.

This time last week, the Alabama Crimson Tide sat at No. 3 in the initial College Football Playoff rankings ahead of hosting then-No. 2 LSU who hadn’t beaten the Tide in eight straight games. What could go wrong?

Everything.

Alabama got pushed around in the first half and lost its first home game since falling to Hugh Freeze’s Ole Miss Rebels in 2015. As a result, Alabama fell to No. 5 in the newest playoff rankings and their playoff hopes may be dead. Barring total chaos, this will be the first year Alabama will miss the playoff.

So what is an angry Alabama team do to in this situation?

Beat the mediocre Mississippi State Bulldogs at Davis Wade and take out all your frustration on them.

Will Garrett Shrader get helicoptered again like he did against Kansas State? The better question is will he not get helicoptered again like he did against K-State?

Look for Tua Tagovailoa to throw for over 300 yards and three touchdowns before halftime before the reserves come in and put up similar numbers in the second half. It’ll be such a lop-sided game that Mississippi State head coach Joe Moorhead will want to take the Rutgers job.

If Alabama doesn’t score more points than Nick Saban is years old (68), they will never ever do enough in the playoff committee’s eyes to get back into the top four this year. They’ll just have to score 100 points on the Western Carolina Catamounts next week and then put up half a hundred on Auburn and hope it will be enough.

Face it. It won’t. Alabama isn’t going to make the College Football Playoff. It’s over. You’re just going to have to get ready for the Sugar Bowl and enjoy the last four games with Tua. But you’ll beat the tar out of Mississippi State first.

If you’re in desperate need of cash because Christmas is around the corner, all you need to do is go to your local blood bank, tap a vein, take that cold hard cash and bet your new life savings on the Alabama money line. The Crimson Tide will win this game. If not, Saban will fire himself at halftime to avoid the shameful post-game presser.

Next. College coaches who would be the life of the tailgate party. dark
