2. Tennessee Titans

According to Matt Miller of Bleacher Report, a rumor “making its way through league circles” is Rivers would “love” to play for the Titans.

With Marcus Mariota benched in the final year of his contract, and Ryan Tannehill no guarantee to be back, the Titans will be looking for a quarterback in the offseason. Rivers is set to hit free agency, but it’s worth wondering what the appeal of the Titans is to him if Miller’s report is true. He is from the south (if you couldn’t tell by his accent), born in Alabama, but that feels like a reach to foster interest in any specific team without any other ties.

It’s also worth wondering if the Titans (or any other team for that matter) would sign a 38-year old Rivers, coming off what’s shaping up to be a bad season, and anoint him as the clear-cut starter. Maybe he’ll have to embrace a backup role, or at least beat someone out for a starting job. The Titans will have a starting job available for someone in 2020, if nothing else.
