10. Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson

The 2019 season didn’t get off to the start that Clemson star quarterback Trevor Lawrence had hoped for as the sophomore signal-caller seemingly began to suffer from the dreaded second-year slump. However, he’s turned it up a notch down the stretch as the Tigers staked their claim to return to the College Football Playoff and has looked like the star everyone expected him to be this season.

Over his last four games, Lawrence has thrown for 13 touchdowns and no interceptions while adding two rushing scores as well. For the year, he’s thrown for 2,575 yards, 27 scores and eight interceptions while rushing for 317 yards and seven touchdowns. It’s not been the storybook season many believed we’d see from the youngster but he’s crept into the top 10 with his late-season performance.

9. Travis Etienne, RB, Clemson

Ahead of their rivalry matchup against South Carolina to end the regular season, the Clemson Tigers and Travis Etienne had Week 13 off. Thus, the standout junior running back wasn’t able to add to his impressive 2019 season with another performance, though he’ll surely be out for blood against the Gamecocks in a game where there’s never any love lost.

For the season, Etienne only has 153 carries but has still put up 1,335 yards for 14 touchdowns in the run game while also catching a career-high 25 passes for 252 yards and two more trips into the end zone. Had Clemson not been blowing many opponents out down the stretch, his candidacy may be even stronger. But even still, he’s done enough to crack the top 10.
