DraftKings NBA picks November 25: What’s new pussyKAT?
By Mike Marteny
DraftKings NBA Shooting Guards:
Best Bets:
DeMar DeRozan ($7,700): DDR has been carrying the Spurs of late. DeRozan has least 6x value in three of the last four games and still hit 5x value in the one in which he missed. DeRozan doesn’t have a ton of upside, but he definitely wont hurt you either.
Andrew Wiggins ($7,600): Wiggins has been a disappointment since rejoining the team after the death of his grandmother. Well, a disappointment for this year anyway. Still, I think it has more to do with the quality of opponents, Utah and Phoenix, than anything else. Wiggins is a great bet to get back on track here against the Hawks. They allow truckloads of points.
Zach LaVine ($7,500): It has been a slow year for LeVine so far, but he exploded against the Hornets for 13 triples, tying a NBA record. Portland is not a good defensive team either, so LaVine should see plenty of good shots once again. All he has to do is stay hot.
Honorable Mention:
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander ($6,700): Consistency has been a problem for SGA this year, but he has also shown the ability to put up some big numbers. He dropped nearly 6x and 7x in back to back games on the Lakers. The Warriors don’t have a lot to guard him with, but you are also banking on SGA hitting shots. If he goes cold from the floor, you have very little chance of returning even 5x value.
Alec Burks ($6,400): Burks didn’t even play in the first matchup with the Thunder. Then back on November 9 Burks had to play 36 minutes. He put up a strong 38.75 DraftKings points in that one. The price on Burks makes it hard for him to return a high multiplier, but he is one of the few Warriors that can score right now.
Marcus Smart ($6,000): If Walker has to sit, look for Smart’s usage rate to go way up. Of course, I think Wanamaker is a safer shot at value, but he doesn’t normally run with the first team. That can be a tough transition and will likely mean a decrease in most stats. Smart is likely to be the dominant offensive force if Kemba is out. We already know he has a good floor. There’s some solid upside here too.
Dark Horses:
Deandre Bembry ($5,300): Bembry has proven to be a capable fill in for the Hawks over the last couple of years, but he just hasn’t been able to crack the lineup on his own accord. The Hawks have no reason to push Reddish, so the fact that he’s still questionable has me leaning more towards him sitting again. If Bembry starts, use him. The upside is there. Bembry has 74.75 DraftKings points in two games with Reddish out.
Sterling Brown ($4,200): We have seen a few of the Bucks rotation pieces come up big with Middleton out. Brown is the only one of the four that hasn’t had a truly big game, but he also has the highest floor. Wes Matthews is a possibility as well since he gets more minutes, but Brown seems to be the safe option.
