Happy Thanksgiving week everyone!

Aside from family, friends and as much food as you can stuff your face with, Thanksgiving generally indicates one important thing — fantasy football playoffs. It’s Week 13, which means they’re finally upon us! If you’ve made it this far, congratulations. Now, the real fun begins.

I’ve preached for a long time that if your league’s playoffs run from Week 14-17, you need to get that changed ASAP. Once Week 17 hits, there are just too many key impact players that could be rested due to their team already locking up a real-life playoff spot, leaving owners scrambling to find someone for their championship matchup. This is downright unfair to anyone who worked hard to get to that point.

Okay, rant over. Looking ahead at this week’s matchups, make sure you set your lineups Wednesday night as we’ve got Lions vs. Bears, Cowboys vs. Bills, and Saints vs. Falcons for a nice Turkey Day trifecta. While the Bears have struggled much of the season, this matchup is inviting for several guys like Allen Robinson, David Montgomery, and dare I say… Mitchell Trubisky?

Of all my favorite matchups to exploit this week, I believe the Cardinals vs. Rams game is a prime spot to attack with sneakily one of the highest projected point totals on the board. In maybe the most exciting game of the week, the unstoppable force meets the immovable object when the Ravens and 49ers square off Sunday at noon. Enough jibber-jabber, let’s get into it!

"DISCLAIMER: “BOOM or BUST” isn’t exactly a “Start or Sit” column. I identify and provide analysis for players who aren’t a top-tier starting option that I believe will exceed expectations – and also those who will fail to meet them. It should be remembered that these picks are done at the beginning of the week, so better options may surface as the week progresses and we get a better idea on various injuries and player situations. Use your best judgement and keep tabs on news updates around the league up until kickoff on Sunday… Without further ado, let’s dive right into this week’s matchups!"
