Charlotte Hornets

That Devonte’ Graham looks like he’ll cover for the Terry Rozier contract one day

It’s not ideal the Charlotte Hornets‘ best point guard (and overall player) thus far has been a second-round draft pick rather than the guy they gave $57 million to over the summer, but it might not be the end of the world in a year or two.

To clarify, Terry Rozier hasn’t been bad. He’s averaging 17.4 points, 4.4 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game on 36 percent shooting from downtown, and for the first time in his career, he’s shooting at least 40 percent from the field as well.

He just hasn’t been as good as Devonte’ Graham, the 34th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, who is leading the team in scoring (18.1 points per game) and assists (7.1 per game). He’s also shooting 40.8 percent shooting from deep on a whopping 8.3 attempts per game, so when Rozier’s contract eventually starts to look bad again (and trust us, it will), Graham could be the reason that mistake isn’t more harshly criticized.
