Chipotle fans may be craving some Chicken or Steak on Thanksgiving, but they’ll have to wait until Friday to get anything but Turkey for dinner.

Fast food is typically on people’s minds on Thanksgiving, with most Americans expecting to spend the day with family and a massive home-cooked meal. But for some who have to work on Thanksgiving or early the next day for Black Friday, fast food can be their only option.

Of course, when people are looking for some quick and filling, they many times turn to Chipotle and their delicious burritos. Sadly for Chipotle fans, the restaurant chain will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, allowing their employees to spend the day with their families.

While it’s nice to see a company recognize what the holiday is all about, but they will be open that day before Thanksgiving and will open for normal hours on Black Friday. So if you plan on doing some shopping and are craving some barbacoa tacos, Chipotle has got you covered, but they’ll be closed on Turkey Day itself.

The caveat to this rule is for any Chipotle locations housed within transportation hubs like airports or train stations, as they might be open to serve the hungry traveling masses. Some locations near busy tourist places like theme parks might stay open, too, but with shortened hours.

While many fast-food restaurants have changed policies and remain open on Thanksgiving Day, it’s nice to see that Chipotle is one of the restaurants that gives its employees a full day off to spend the day with family and friends. With so many people out shopping on Friday, Chipotle will likely make up for being closed Thursday with Friday’s sales alone. All Subway locations will also be closed on Thanksgiving Day, but with the same caveats as Chipotle.

If you working late on Thanksgiving or need to grab something quick on your way to work before the biggest shopping day of the year, places like Starbucks and McDonald’s will be open. Other places like Burger King, Wendy’s, Subway, IHOP,  and Denny’s will be open on Turkey Day as well.

While Chipotle won’t be open on Thanksgiving, there are plenty of other options available if you need a quick meal at some point during the holiday.
