NFL DFS bargain bin: Thanksgiving Day WRs/TEs

Randall Cobb, DAL vs. BUF

(DraftKings-$5,000/FanDuel-$6,000/FantasyDraft-$10.600/Yahoo-$14)

Cobb comes into Thanksgiving with a nice four-game sample of volume in tow, as he’s logged seven or eight targets in each game between Weeks 9 and 12. That sample includes a pair of 100-yard games and receiving touchdowns. Buffalo has often done an excellent job limiting opposing team’s top receivers with shadow coverage from Tre’Davious White, which often opens up opportunities for No. 2 and No. 3 wideouts.

Cobb has the upside to capitalize on such a scenario where Amari Cooper might be shadowed by White, as his rapport with Dak Prescott has clearly grown over the course of the season. Prescott is tied for the third-most intended air yards per attempt (9.6) in the league, while Cobb boasts the second-highest average yards per catch (14.9) of his career and also boasts an impressive average of 6.5 yards per catch after reception, furthering his case at very reasonable salaries.

ALSO CONSIDER: Russell Gage, ATL vs. NO

Dawson Knox, BUF at DAL

(DraftKings-$2,900/FanDuel-$4,500/FantasyDraft-$5,700/Yahoo-$12)

The Cowboys have forced plenty of targets toward tight ends, as they’ve allowed 84 to the position over their first 11 games. That’s led to a 60-582-5 line surrendered to the position, which equates to per-game averages of 13.9 DK/FantasyDraft and 10.8 FanDuel points yielded to TEs.

Knox doesn’t see an overabundance of targets, but that could change in a game against a Cowboys defense that’s often been adept at limiting opposing wideouts (tied w/ 49ers for sixth-fewest receptions allowed — 116 — to receivers on the sixth-fewest targets).

Hockenson has good downfield speed, as evidenced by his 13.2 yards per catch. He also seen between four and six targets in five of his 11 games, and the upside he brings at extremely low prices is one to try and exploit on such a small slate that features a general dearth of options at the position.
