The college football rankings will see LSU make a case for Ohio State’s No. 1 spot in the AP Top 25 and Alabama could fall out of the top 10.

Rivalry Week did not disappoint — unless you’re a Michigan fan.

It all started with the Egg Bowl on Thanksgiving night and that truly set the tone for the weekend. Ole Miss looked to tie the game in the final seconds, but an excessive celebration penalty and missed extra point decided it as Mississippi State heads to a bowl — but that has no bearing on the AP Top 25 for Week 15.

Friday’s slate featured a couple of ranked teams such as Virginia Tech traveling to rival Virginia, playing for the Commonwealth Cup. The Hokies had been playing their best football of the season, but the Cavaliers won and earned a spot in the ACC title game — or should we call it the “Who gets to get blown out by Clemson?” game.

Iowa also played on Friday afternoon and built a 14-point halftime lead over Nebraska before allowing the Cornhuskers to climb back into it and then winning on a field goal in the final seconds.

As if that wasn’t enough Black Friday football, Memphis took down Cincinnati to take a commanding lead in the Group of Five’s race for a New Year’s Six bowl, but Boise State caught back up with a win over Colorado State. Memphis is still the favorite for a New Year’s Six.

Saturday started with “The Game” as Michigan hosted top-ranked Ohio State for a chance to end the “can’t beat Ohio State” stigma that has been growing. And after playing the Buckeyes tough in the first half, the Wolverines were absolutely decimated in the second half to lose 56-27. The Buckeyes look like a playoff lock and the best team in college football.

Georgia and Clemson blew out their rivals — not without some chippy play — and we saw a couple of ranked matchups later in the afternoon.

Alabama and Auburn played in a fierce Iron Bowl game that went down to the wire and was decided by a missed field goal, knocking the Tide from playoff contention. Minnesota and Wisconsin also fought for serious postseason goals, but the Badgers picked up the win and a trip to the Big Ten title game with a West crown.

The No. 1 team in the AP Top 25 heading into the week hosted a tough Texas A&M team and pulled off a blowout win. Will the Tigers remain at the top this week?

Iowa State lost a tough one to Kansas State in Manhattan to presumably drop them out of the AP Top 25 and Utah took care of Colorado, Florida dominated Florida State and Oklahoma picked up a big win in Bedlam that will keep the Sooners in the College Football Playoff race.

What could the AP Top 25 look like when the latest version is released on Sunday afternoon?
