Minneapolis brought the icy temperatures but also some College GameDay signs to the table ahead of a huge rivalry clash between Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Where College GameDay is headed for rivalry week to end the college football regular season is always a great honor. After all, these are some of the biggest games of the season taking place throughout the country. But as the Minnesota Golden Gophers and Wisconsin Badgers battle for Paul Bunyan’s Axe and the Big Ten West crown, Lee Corso and the boys were destined to head to Minneapolis for the first time.

Anytime that you have big stakes for a game between two rivals and also have a first-time visit from College GameDay, you can expect a raucous environment. Who cares if the temperatures are freezing and there’s snow on the ground? This is time to get your GameDay signs out in full effect ahead of this huge game.

Minnesota recently saw their College Football Playoff hopes go by the wayside with a loss to Iowa. However, the Golden Gophers can still wreak some havoc if they can beat rival Wisconsin, who has stumbled a time or two this season, and then push Ohio State in the Big Ten title game.

It’s always great to see College GameDay visit a new city, especially a campus with fans as the ones in Minnesota have been with P.J. Fleck bringing the program to prominence. Now we’ll see if they can carry that energy into their rivalry matchup with Wisconsin and bring Paul Bunyan’s Axe to Minneapolis for the next year.
