Sunday Night Football presents the DFS/FanDuel community with an outstanding match up between AFC teams! Let’s take a look at this football game from a fantasy perspective!

Before I dive into my FanDuel player picks for Sunday night’s game, let’s take a look at the key DFS injuries, review the rules for the FanDuel single game contest, and briefly discuss my fantasy strategy for the FanDuel single game contest.

Key DFS Injuries

New England Patriots: OUT: Ryan Izzo, TE: QUESTIONABLE: Phillip Dorsett WR, Julian Edelman WR, Mohamed Sanu WR, Matthew Slater WR.

Houston Texans: None.

Now let’s discuss the rules for the FanDuel single game contest. You have $60,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your MVP. The FanDuel MVP accumulates 1.5 times the standard FanDuel points value.

The remaining four players in your lineup will receive the standard FanDuel points value. Having stated that, it is highly important that you identify the correct player for your MVP position if you hope to win a FanDuel single game contest.

If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the FanDuel single game contest, I recommend that you check out the FanDuel website for more details.

Let’s now briefly discuss my fantasy strategy for Sunday night’s football game. First of all, I know that Patriots coach Bill Belichick loves to take the best offensive weapon from his opponent’s game plan. Having stated that, I strongly believe that the Patriots will have double coverage in place for the Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. I don’t mean for one offensive series or for the first half either. Coach Belichick will have double coverage in place for Hopkins the entire game.

Due to my belief that Hopkins will be taken out of the Texans offense, I am full fading Hopkins in this FanDuel single game contest.

Let’s transition to what I love doing the most! Here are my FanDuel player selections for Sunday night’s game.

MVP-Will Fuller V $12,500

I mentioned earlier in this article that I believe that the Patriots will double cover the Texans DeAndre Hopkins throughout Sunday’s game. Having stated that, there will be other Texans receivers open due to the Patriots double coverage focus on Hopkins. I am banking on Will Fuller to be the main beneficiary of the Patriots defensive game plan in this game.

Fuller has shown previously this season that he can certainly handle an expanded role in the Texans offense.  An example of that ability can clearly be seen in Fuller’s offensive performance in week nine. In the Texans week nine contest versus Atlanta, Fuller accumulated 14 receptions, 217 receiving yards, and three receiving touchdowns. His final fantasy point total for the week nine contest was an impressive 46.7 FanDuel points!

Flex Plays

Deshaun Watson $15,500

I am stacking my MVP with his quarterback, Deshaun Watson. As I reviewed the Patriots previous game data in 2019, it became clear to me that the New England defensive personnel have struggled with mobile quarterbacks. I think the Patriots will continue to struggle in that regard in this football game. In my opinion, Watson will perform at a high level from a fantasy perspective on Sunday night.

Tom Brady $14,500

The Patriots are not my favorite team to play in fantasy contests. Why is that? Well, on the offensive side of the ball, you just never know what offensive personnel that Patriots head coach will utilize from week to week. In summary, the Patriots have no consistency with regard to offensive personnel.

Who is the one consistent player in the Patriots offense? You guessed it, Tom Brady. I think Brady will find some level of fantasy success in this game.

Sony Michel $11,000

Over the last three weeks, Michel has 34 offensive touches. I mentioned earlier in this article that the Patriots are somewhat unpredictable with regard to offensive personnel usage on a weekly basis. However, I am going to take a chance that Michael will continue to be a factor in the New England offense on Sunday night.

Kenny Stills $6,500

For my last player selection I am rolling with Houston wide receiver Kenny Stills. Over his last five games, Stills has been targeted by Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson 23 times! I would not be surprised at all if Stills has 5-8 receptions and a receiving touchdown in Sunday night’s game.

It has to be said that I think Stills presents outstanding value at a FanDuel price of only $6,500.

As always, good luck!
