DraftKings NBA picks December 6: Can Giannis dominate again?
By Mike Marteny
DraftKings NBA Small Forwards:
Best Bets:
Giannis Antetokounmpo ($11,300): It’s not often that someone with a price tag like this looks cheap. However, it’s been so long since Giannis played a full compliment of minutes that we forget what he can do. Giannis hasn’t played 30 minutes in a game in a week. The last time he did, Giannis put up 60 DraftKings points. Oh, and in the first meeting with the Clippers, Giannis broke the slate with 81.5 DraftKings points. Don’t expect that with Kawhi and PG13 both playing, but 60 is likely the low end of the spectrum.
Andrew Wiggins ($7,500): The shooting percentage is regressing back to last year’s awful numbers lately, but Wiggins is still salvaging his overall lines with peripheral stats. Despite hitting just 13 of 40 shots over the last two games, Wiggins still has 80.75 DraftKings points. This newfound floor is quite comforting and Wiggins is going to put up a huge line at some point when the shots start falling again.
Honorable Mention:
Jaylen Brown ($6,800): The absence of Smart has opened things up for Brown. He has 82.75 DraftKings points over the last two games. Denver is a solid defensive team, but with Brown getting the minutes and the shots he is right now, it’s a tough fade at this price.
Evan Fournier ($6,600): Fournier has always been a consistent producer, but it has never been on this level before. Still, if it were a fluke we would think that Fournier would have slowed down by now. He doesn’t have a ton of upside, but he is one of my favorite cash game plays right now and has been for a couple of weeks.
Draymond Green ($5,900): Draymond put up 33.25 DraftKings points against the Bulls in the first meeting in just 24 minutes of court time. The Warriors are playing for the lottery, so they aren’t wasting Green’s minutes on games they don’t want to win anyway. He only plays about half the game nowadays, but if he’s engaged, Draymond can blow away value at this price even in that little time.
Dark Horses:
Troy Brown ($3,800): The Wizards are suddenly thin at guard with McRae and Thomas out. That’s great news for Brown. His minutes actually shrank a bit last night, but Brown still put up 23 DraftKings points. That’s a great return for the price and he is guaranteed minutes right now.
Nicolas Batum ($3,500): The Hornets are playing the younger guys right now, but Batum has still played well off the bench. The issue I have with Batum is that he is hardly involved in the offense at all. So long as he plays 25 minutes, he’ll be fine. When he doesn’t play 20 minutes, that’s when Batum doesn’t get enough peripheral stats to hit value.
