The Champions League group stage concludes on Wednesday. In the final game of Group B, Olympiacos host Red Star Belgrade. With Bayern Munich and Tottenham claiming first and second in the group, neither Olympiacos nor Red Star can advance to the Champions League knockout stage. However, the team that finishes third will drop down to the Europa League knockout stage.
Olympiacos have one point in their first five games of the group stage. The Greek side has to win if they are going to keep their European campaign alive. Any other result will see Red Star advance. Olympiacos are tied for first in the Greek Super League and have not lost a game in their domestic season. In their 13 league games, Olympiacos have conceded only five goals. In the Champions League, Olympiacos have allowed 14 goals in their five games. The Greek club will have to defend significantly better if they are going to beat the Serbian champions.
Red Star Belgrade are cruising to another Serbian league title. With one game in hand, Belgrade have a 10-point lead over Vojvodina. In the first game against Olympiacos, Red Star won 3-1. Marko Marin assisted on two of Red Star’s goals against the Greek club in the first meeting and leads the club with 11 assists in all competitions.

Despite sitting third in the group and winning a game, Red Star enter the game with the worst goal differential in the Champions League. Red Star have a -16 goal differential after conceding 19 goals in their games against Bayern and Tottenham.
