Top star players, best value picks, and guys you should stay a way from on December 14 in NBA DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Welcome to Studs, Scrubs, and Duds; FanSided’s NBA DFS lineup helper.

Here’s what’s on the slate for tonight:

7:30 p.m. ET: Brooklyn at Toronto
8 p.m. ET: LA Clippers at Chicago, Washington at Memphis
8:30 p.m. ET: Miami at Dallas, Cleveland at Milwaukee
9 p.m. ET: Oklahoma City Thunder at Denver, Detroit at Houston

How this works:

Studs: Top high salary picks that you can build your lineup around.
Scrubs: Value players looking for a big night or consistent options to help fill out your lineup.
Duds: Players to avoid given their high salary and/or poor matchup.

Five players are picked on each slide, positions are not applicable, and both DraftKings and FanDuel salaries are listed.

Studs

Kyle Lowry (vs BKN – $7,800 on DK; $8,700 on FD): If VanVleet doesn’t play, that’s even better for Lowry’s value. As it is, the matchup is good enough as the Nets aren’t going to offer much in terms of defense while Lowry and the Raptors offense typically hums along. A double double isn’t out of the question here given Lowry’s usual output.

Jaren Jackson Jr (vs WAS – $6,500 on DK; $7,300 on FD): The Wizards are weak against the position, though the back to back for Memphis is slightly worrying. And while Jackson is unlikely to have the kind of shooting performance he had against the Bucks on Friday, he’s still been playing very well as of late and the matchup is way too good to pass up on.

Khris Middleton (vs CLE – $7,200 on DK; $7,100 on FD): I also like Giannis among the very high salary guys because he has the best matchup. Even in limited minutes, Giannis will certainly deliver. But Middleton has been playing great and has found his rhythm since his injury. He will benefit from Giannis and deliver well over value once again. A blowout is still concerning, but like Giannis, even in limited minutes he’ll put up big numbers.

Russell Westbrook (vs DET – $9,600 on DK; $10,400 on FD): Westbrook has found his shooting touch a bit (by Westbrook standards) and Harden seems due for an off-night with things being a back-to-back. This is a gut feeling pick as Westbrook seems due for a triple double while Harden seems due to take a step back.

Nikola Jokic (vs CLE – $8,600 on DK; $7,100 on FD): Jokic has found a little bit of consistency but not hitting his ceiling is a little worrisome. The good news is he’s up against the Thunder and he always plays well against the Thunder. Adams has a lot of trouble with him and if Jokic is going to really turn things around, this would be the game to do it in.
