Bears should have had miracle, but screwed it up (Video)

The Chicago Bears had an opportunity at pulling off a Lambeau Miracle on Sunday. Too bad they’re the Bears and they found a way to screw it up in the end.
With their season on the line, the Chicago Bears found themselves in a 21-3 hole heading into the final quarter at Lambeau Field vs. the archrival Green Bay Packers. Since Green Bay didn’t do a great job of putting the Bears away, Chicago actually had a chance at winning this game in the final seconds in dramatic fashion. The only problem is they’re the Bears and that doesn’t happen.
What if I told you the Bears had a great, great opportunity to pull off a Lambeau Miracle on Sunday afternoon? All they had to do was not screw it up. Too bad the Bears did just that with the football merely yards away from paydirt in the final seconds. Here is exactly what went down in the final seconds in Lambeau on Sunday afternoon.
After quarterback Mitchell Trubisky heaved one from the Green Bay 34-yard line on a second-and-1 with nine seconds left, an attempt that Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander nearly deflected into the hands of Bears wide receiver Riley Ridley, Chicago had one second left on the clock and 34 yards to go to do the unthinkable.

Chicago was down 21-13 and had its opportunity for some Lambeau magic. Trubisky completed a 13-yard pass to running back Tarik Cohen to the Green Bay 21-yard line. He would lateral the ball back to Trubisky, who would initially fumble it, but recovered his own fumble to take it to the Green Bay 16-yard line before he would lateral it to tight end Jesper Horsted.
Horsted, who was not expecting the football on that play, or what to do with it once it got in his hands, had wide receiver Allen Robinson in line for a beautiful lateral to paydirt from the Green Bay 7-yard line. All he had to do was flip it up in the air to his right for Robinson to grab it. Instead, he fumbled it and Green Bay recovered it just short of the goal line to end the ball game.

Once again, a football offense let Robinson down. This is a guy who had to deal with Christian Hackenberg’s inaccuracy in college at Penn State and the inconsistency of Blake Bortles with the Jacksonville Jaguars during his first year in the league. Trubisky is the only Pro Bowl signal-caller he’s ever worked with. This was his moment and the Bears found a way to screw it up. Wow.
