The Rise of Skywalker is the final movie in the Skywalker saga. Here’s which characters didn’t make it out alive in this last installment.

WARNING! This story contains major spoilers for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

It might be easier to tell you who didn’t die in The Rise of Skywalker as this final movie gave us a high death toll, but not as high as you would think. It’s safe to say that you’re probably reading this because you want to be spoiled or want to keep track of who actually died after seeing it. Otherwise, do not proceed if you don’t want The Rise of Skywalker to be spoiled for you.

Let’s start with the good news. The three main characters, Rey, Finn, and Poe, all make it out of the movie alive. Chewbacca also has a good death scare that left audiences in shock, but he also makes it to the end of the movie.

Now for the not-so-good news. First and foremost, General Hux is shot and killed. His death is slightly anti-climatic, but it happens. If Hux was your favorite character, we’re sorry for your loss.

As The Rise of Skywalker contains the final war between the Resistance and the First/Final Order, there are a lot (we mean a lot) of Rebels and Stormtroopers that get taken out.

As the more important characters are concerned, General Leia Organa is gone as well. After her long life of leading the Rebels, her death is by far the hardest to watch in the movie.

Palpatine (we said spoilers) also dies at the hands of our favorite hero, Rey. We also get to see the Knights of Ren get taken out as well as many of Palpatine’s guards.

Last but certainly not least, Ben Solo, AKA Kylo Ren, dies by the end of the film. It’s hard to watch the trilogy’s villain pass shortly after his redemption, making his death almost as hard to watch as General Organa’s.

More. Review: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. light

Overall, The Rise of Skywalker has a pretty high death toll. However, for a movie with a full-out space war in it, a lot of the main characters remain intact. If you haven’t seen it already, you’ll have to watch the movie yourself to see exactly how everything plays out.
