A lot happens in Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, and we have a lot of questions. Specifically, who actually uses the Force?  We’ve got answers.

WARNING! This story contains major spoilers for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is definitely a long movie with a lot going on (in a good way). So, it’s pretty understandable if you can’t remember every single person who used the Force. Or maybe you’re one of those people who seeks out spoilers, no judgment here. Let’s recap everyone who used the Force in The Rise of Skywalker.

For the record, this is full of spoilers, so don’t read unless you really want to know everyone who used the Force.

Rey uses the Force for pretty much the entire movie. She can be found floating, trying to focus, and flipping around like a talented Jedi during battle.

Kylo Ren is also a master of using the Force in this movie. Although, he tends to use his Force powers to throw people across rooms. Kylo and Rey also both use the Force to continue communicating with each other as they did in The Last Jedi.

And of course, the movie’s huge villain, Palpatine, uses the Force quite a lot. However, he takes it to a whole new level.

We also get to see Luke use the Force to return as a Force ghost and Leia use the Force to communicate with Kylo Ren.

However, we kind of went in knowing that all of these people could, and probably would, use the Force. The one we didn’t see coming? Finn. Sure, he held a lightsaber before, but this was the first time we got to see him using the Force. And no, he doesn’t levitate or throw anyone across a room.

He uses it to sense things. He can sense when Rey is in danger, or when she’s nearby, much like Kylo Ren can. It’s clear that this is the beginning of his journey with the Force.
