Sell high on Spencer Dinwiddie

Sell high on Dinwiddie who is BALLING right now.

My views on Dinwiddie are kind of the same as the views I had on Ingram in my last article. Dinwiddie will probably continue to be a strong performer for the season…just not as high as he is now.

In the last month Dinwiddie has been averaging 2.1 3PG, 25.6PPG, 3 RPG, 7.4 APG, 0.9 SPG, 0.4 BPG and 2.9 TPG on 45% FG shooting and 83% FT shooting. That’s been good enough for a round 4 player in that time. He is currently a top 70 player for the whole season.

That doesn’t seem sustainable with Irving supposedly coming back on his own timetable and LeVert due back in the coming weeks (just cleared for non-contact activities). Dinwiddie’s usage will certainly drop, as will the number of looks he gets. His shooting percentage currently doesn’t seem sustainable either and we could be in line for a regression soon. He has never shot above 44% on a season and currently sits at 43% (cheer average 41%).

A 9th round player in his 2017-18 campaign, Dinwiddie has never finished a season ranked higher than 102 overall but this season, I feel like he could finish in the top 90 when all is set and done. The biggest reason for this is I could see Kyrie Irving at some point this season taking more games off. The Nets have been playing better without him and Durant, by all accounts, is not going to play this year.

Trading Dinwiddie and another top 90 player away for someone like Josh Richardson makes sense to me. You could try and trade for guys like Eric Bledsoe, Lou Williams, or Wendall Carter Jr as well.
