2020 NFL Mock Draft: Washington Redskins land Chase Young
By Brad Weiss
The San Francisco 49ers are the best team in the NFC this season, and they could be on a collision course with the Baltimore Ravens in the Super Bowl. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo just wins football games, and the balance they have on both sides of the ball has been downright impressive this season.
As they look towards the future, they need to make sure they hit on their late first round pick in 2020, and Shaun Wade from Ohio State would be a great get this late in round one. Wade has all the talent to be a true CB1 at the NFL, and with the 49ers having some aging players in the secondary, the time is now to strike with a pure talent like Wade in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Richard Sherman is not going to play forever, and this secondary has been beatable at times this season. Bringing in a player like Wade would give the young man a chance to learn from the best early in his career, as the 49ers continue to build this roster for long-term success under head coach Kyle Shanahan.
The best team in football all season long has been the Baltimore Ravens, who also may have the NFL’s Most Valuable Player on their roster. Quarterback Lamar Jackson has been downright dominant in his second season as the starter for the Ravens, leading the team to the best record in the AFC.
Looking at this roster, they have very few holes to fill, but they could target an inside linebacker with their first round pick next April. They are still trying to replace C.J. Mosley, who left for the New York Jets this past offseason, and a player like Kenneth Murray is certainly going to be able to fill that role in 2020.
If the draft order ends this way, that means we got a rematch of Super Bowl XLVII, a game won by the Ravens. They have the talent to win the whole thing this season, and after resting some of their key players in Week 17, they will be rested, healthy, and ready to go as the No. 1 overall seed in the AFC.
