DraftKings college football running back picks December 27:

Top Tier:

The Texas A&M run defense was better than you may realize, only allowing 129.1 rush yards per game this year. However, McNeese State was the only team that Chuba Hubbard didn’t run for triple digits on. Hubbard will play what could be his last college game, and is going to cap off a historic season with a bang here.

I know Air Force has a really tough rush defense, but Max Borghi has 81 receptions this year. That’s 81 free points for a running back. The price feels a bit high, but Borghi is going to be the guy to win this game for Washington State. His success is more important than Gordon or any of the receivers.

Middle Tier:

You never know just who is going to succeed as Air Force’s primary runner. Someone will against this Washington State D, but with Kadin Remsberg as the highest priced guy, I don’t like it. He hasn’t had a strong game in over a month.

The price on Isaiah Spiller doubles as a Christmas gift. Oklahoma State was decent against the run, allowing 150 rush yards per game, but Spiller gouged most defenses when given the chance. Spiller went for 20.1 DraftKings points on LSU. I like what he could do to the Cowboys.

It was tough running in Big Ten(14) play for Elijah Collins, but that’s as much a product as Michigan State’s inability to pass and getting behind early than run defense in that conference. Wake allowed 162.6 rushing yards per game. The Michigan State offense is going to try to keep Wake off the field, which means a big day for Collins. I love him at this price.

Bargain Shoppers:

The Iowa offense became much better when Tyler Goodson took over the starting running back job. USC’s run defense was solid, but not so solid that Goodson should be under $5,000. Iowa is going to run the ball quite a lot and Goodson will see a good chunk of those carries. He is a steal at this price.

Way back when Air Force was a staple on DraftKings slates, Taven Birdow was always a steal. He is here as well. Timothy Jackson might be out and Remsberg is all over the place. Birdow had 30 carries over the last two games with Jackson out. Expect a heavy workload against Wazzu as well. Even if Jackson plays, Birdow should see enough carries to warrant consideration.
