Derrick Henry, Ryan Tannehill must-starts for Titans in Week 17
By John Buhler
In case you didn’t know, Derrick Henry, Ryan Tannehill and A.J. Brown are all must-starts in Week 17 for fantasy football, so be all in on Tennessee Titans.
If you have any major fantasy implications on the line in Week 17 for any reason, you need to play as many Tennessee Titans as you can. That means if you have guys like running back Derrick Henry, quarterback Ryan Tannehill and wide receiver A.J. Brown on your fantasy team, don’t think, just play them on Sunday vs. the Houston Texans.
The Fantasy Footballers could not be more all-in on this trio of Titans offensive stars. By the time this game is underway, the Texans will know if their seeding in the AFC playoff picture, most likely being the No. 4 seed. Unless they hate their division rival with every fiber of their being, look for many Texans stars to play limited snaps in this Week 17 ball game.

As for the Titans, it’s a pretty simple, win and you’re in sort of set-up for Tennessee. A win on the road vs. Houston will give the Titans the No. 6 seed in the AFC playoff picture. The two other teams still alive for the No. 6 seed in the AFC entering Week 17 are the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Oakland Raiders, neither of whom control their own playoff destiny. Tennessee sure does.
Keep in mind that Tannehill is playing the best football of his career and would love a contract extension with the Titans. Henry sat out last week vs. the New Orleans Saints in a game that had no impact on the Titans’ playoff aspirations, knowing that he’d get one more crack at Houston before he too hits free agency. If his hamstring is good, then the Titans should win this game.
Brown has had a great second half in his rookie year out of Ole Miss. While Tennessee is more known for its ground game with Henry leading charge, Brown has emerged as Tannehill’s go-to, deep-threat receiving target. He’ll be a big reason if the Titans do end up with that coveted No. 6 seed.
Overall, this is the last day of fantasy during the 2019 NFL regular season, if you play a 17-week schedule for some reason. No team has more to play for on Sunday than Tennessee. Other teams might have playoff positioning on the line, but this is all about a playoff berth for the Titans. If this trio gets it done, then Tennessee becomes a No. 6 seed no No. 3 seed will want to face in the AFC.
