NFL DFS bargain bin: Week 17 Early Slate Tight Ends

Jared Cook, NO vs. CAR

(DraftKings- $5,200/FanDuel-$6,800/FantasyDraft-$10,600/Yahoo-$17)

Cook has carved out an impressive niche in the high-octane Saints passing attack, essentially becoming Drew Brees‘ second-favorite target behind Michael Thomas on many weeks late in the season. The veteran tight end has a pair of two-touchdown games over the last three contests and has between 54 and 99 receiving yards in five consecutive contests.

The one caveat with Cook is that he’s been highly efficient with is targets over the last three games, posting four scores on just 10 looks overall during that span. While that’s obviously unsustainable, his matchup versus a Carolina squad with questionable motivation could certainly lead to another fruitful outing.

O.J. Howard, TAM vs. ATL

(DraftKings- $4,300/FanDuel-$5,500/FantasyDraft-$8,100/Yahoo-$13)

It took multiple injuries to wide receivers, but Howard finally seems to have a consistent role in the Buccaneers’ high-powered offense. The athletic tight end has between five and seven targets in four straight games. Howard’s athleticism makes him a threat for a big play any time he has the ball in his hands, and in Week 17, he’ll face a Falcons team that’s allowed a 73-840-5 line to tight ends for the campaign and yielded a top-10 catch rate overall (66.0 percent).
