NBA DFS: Studs, scrubs, and duds for December 30
Top star players, best value picks, and guys you should stay away from on December 30 in NBA DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.
Welcome to Studs, Scrubs, and Duds; FanSided’s NBA DFS lineup helper.
Here’s what’s on the slate for tonight:
7 p.m. ET: Atlanta at Orlando, Miami at Washington
8 p.m. ET: Milwaukee at Chicago, Brooklyn at Minnesota
9 p.m. ET: Detroit at Utah
10 p.m. ET: Phoenix at Portland
How this works:
Studs: Top high salary picks that you can build your lineup around.
Scrubs: Value players looking for a big night or consistent options to help fill out your lineup.
Duds: Players to avoid given their high salary and/or poor matchup.
Five players are picked on each slide, positions are not applicable, and both DraftKings and FanDuel salaries are listed.
Studs
Bam Adebayo (at WAS – $7,600 on DK; $9,100 on FD): Bam had a rough outing against Philly but don’t worry about that in this matchup. It’s the Wizards. And everyone has dominated the Wizards this season, including Adebayo, who has had two monster performances against Washington. Injuries leave for an uncertain mix of players atop the salary list. Adebayo will suit up and he will dominate.
Spencer Dinwiddie (at MIN – $7,700 on DK; $8,000 on FD): Dinwiddie has been a tad disappointing as of late, but don’t be concerned about that in this matchup. The Wolves are a mess right now and even if Towns plays, there’s no telling how he’s going to look in his first action back. Simply put, there’s no reason to trust the Wolves and there is plenty of reasons to trust a scorer like Dinwiddie.
Donovan Mitchell (vs DET – $8,400 on DK; $7,800 on FD): Mitchell has had to carry more of the offense for the Jazz with Conley out and he’s handled himself well. He’s coming up with big games against tough teams and now he gets the Pistons, who are weak against the position. Mitchell has the potential to outperform Vucevic and LaVine, both of whom are at a higher salary.
Jonathan Isaac (at ATL – $6,500 on DK; $6,600 on FD): No Aaron Gordon would help Isaac as it means increased opportunities. The main thing that will help Isaac is that the Magic are up against the Hawks. And the Hawks are no a good basketball team on a lot of levels. Isaac has double double potential and you should expect that with a big scoring output in this one.
John Collins (vs ORL – $8,700 on DK; $8,300 on FD): With no Trae Young, this becomes Collins’ team. More of the offense is run through him and he can score in bunches. Along with his scoring, he’s going to grab plenty of rebounds and chip in with some defensive plays. The matchup is tough but the circumstances play in his favor.
