The 2018 Clemson Tigers are the best college football team from this decade.

Clemson’s 2018 season was one for the history books as the Tigers proved themselves to be the best team all season by going undefeated through the regular season. And then a huge, monumental win at the end of the year helped prove Clemson to be the best team of the decade.

The Tigers weren’t challenged much through the regular season, with the toughest tests actually coming from unranked Texas A&M and Syracuse. But a lot of those issues came from Clemson struggling to get its quarterback situated.

Once the Tigers were set at quarterback, Clemson was unstoppable.

The Tigers ran through their first 12 games without taking a loss and then put down Pitt in the ACC Championship with ease. Notre Dame proved that it was unable to keep up with Clemson and was something of a playoff pretender, but then the Tigers slapped around Nick Saban’s team, and that’s when it became clear that this Clemson team was different.

Dabo Swinney had proven that he had built a college football powerhouse in Clemson, but crushing Alabama 44-16 was something that few could have ever foreseen.

Clemson did to Alabama what Alabama does to just about everybody else. The Tigers proved that they were the best team in college football that season by doing just that. By winning 15 games and capping off that season with that sort of win over what was previously the best program in college football, the 2018 Clemson team proved it was the best team from this decade.
