No. 8: 2015 Alabama Crimson Tide

2015 got off to a bit of a rocky start for Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide. In the third game of the college football season, Alabama was upset by Hugh Freeze and the Ole Miss Rebels, setting Bama up to face a major setback as the Crimson Tide would try to make it to the playoffs for the second straight season.

However, after that loss to the Rebels, Alabama seemingly got things figured out pretty quickly. The Tide found itself rolling through the SEC, with the only team that really challenged it following that loss to Ole Miss being Butch Jones’ Tennessee Volunteers.

Bama beat up on LSU, Mississippi State, A&M, Auburn and UGA. The Tide crushed Florida and Alabama won the SEC with relative ease.

From there, Alabama went on into the playoffs.

After falling the previous year to a Big Ten team in the semifinals, Alabama had no issue taking care of Michigan State. One 38-0 shutout later and Bama was set to face off against the Clemson Tigers in the national championship game.

In what was arguably the most entertaining matchup between Alabama and Clemson to date, the Crimson Tide came out on top of the Tigers 45-40. Alabama claimed yet another title and, despite that loss to Ole Miss, was the best team in the country that season.
