DraftKings NBA picks January 15: Westbrook does best work

We have a big ten game Wednesday for our DraftKings NBA tournaments tonight. Brooklyn, Dallas, and Houston are on the second night of back to backs. There’s a lot of talent on this slate, so we will have tough decisions like last night, but enough value to make it work. Last night was almost devoid of value. First, let’s take a look at the walking wounded.

Out: Joel Embiid (finger), Karl-Anthony Towns (knee), Anthony Davis (pain in the ass), Fred VanVleet (hamstring), Jayson Tatum (knee), Victor Oladipo (knee), Wendell Carter (ankle), Richaun Holmes (shoulder), Jonathan Isaac (knee), Jusuf Nurkic (leg), Luke Kennard (knee), Rui Hachimura (groin), Tyler Herro (knee), Otto Porter (foot), Mo Wagner (ankle), Bogdan Bogdanovic (ankle), Paul Millsap (knee), D.J. Augustin (knee), Justise Winslow (back), Rajon Rondo (finger), Zach Collins (shoulder), Nerlens Noel (ankle), Garrett Temple (knee), Garrison Mathews (ankle), Jake Layman (toe), Nene (hip), Gerald Green (foot), Rodney Hood (Achilles), Skal Labissiere (knee), Robert Williams (hip), Blake Griffin (knee), Reggie Jackson (back), Khyri Thomas (foot), Andre  Roberson (knee), Abdel Nader (ankle), Dewan Hernandez (ankle), John Wall (Achilles), Ryan Broekhoff (leg), Kevin Durant (Achilles), DeMarcus Cousins (knee), Al-Farouq Aminu (knee).

Questionable: Brad Beal (shoulder), Kristaps Porzingis (knee), Jamal Murray (back), Evan Fournier (quad), Christian Wood (knee), Gary Harris (groin), P.J. Tucker (shoulder), Daniel Theis (knee), Wilson Chandler (hamstring), Mario Hezonja (back), Michael Carter-Williams (shoulder).

Sabonis played on Monday, so he should be fine. There has been no word about Towns’ injury and I wouldn’t use him at this price even if he plays. They have targeted this date for a return for Porzingis for about a week now, so expect him to play. Gasol says he’s playing, so we’ll see about that. Chandler Hutchison is finally expected to play tonight.

The Luka/Harden had lots of failure from value picks, specifically Okobo and Allen. Not that Luka did well either. That was about half of what we wanted from him. The only lineup that cashed was the Kyrie/Harden built. That one actually survived Okobo and Saric.

Kozarac1968 got the takedown with 346.75 DraftKings points. That was a full 6.5 points ahead of second place! He built with Kyrie, Trae, and Booker and got huge value out of Zubac, Huerter, Big Dog III, and Portis. His lineup survived Saric as well. Imagine having a takedown with a guy that had just 10.25 DraftKings points.

Just because you don’t see someone on here doesn’t mean they aren’t a good play. I only have so much room, and I’m not going anyone a favor if I recommend more than half of the players at a position. If you have a feeling about someone, by all means, follow that. I mostly follow numbers and trends.
