Golladay spent a lot of time on fantasy football benches, due in large part to the quarterback play he was getting in the second half of the season. Had Detroit starter Matthew Stafford not gotten hurt, then we collectively might have been more inclined to start him weekly in fantasy. However, catching balls from Jeff Driskel and David Blough wasn’t something we were signing up for.

Should Golladay get a full season out of Stafford in 2020, how does that impact Golladay’s fantasy value in what’ll be a contract year for the guy? The guys look at him as a fringe WR10, although one closer to 10 than being in the mid-to-high-teens. In short, Golladay is clearly trending up entering his fourth year in the league out of Northern Illinois.

2020 is a critical year for the Lions for so many reasons. Stafford needs to prove that he can stay healthy in his early 30s. Head coach Matt Patricia has to be on the hot seat to start the year after a disappointing second season leading the team. More importantly, how sure are we that Golladay will be back with the team on a new contract once he hits unrestricted free agency in 2021?

Next. Chris Godwin had a WR2 season but is really a WR8 player. dark

Overall, we have to like Golladay as a fantasy wide receiver entering next season for two reasons. He was consistent, despite having multiple quarterbacks slinging him the pigskin this season. With 2020 being a contract year for the guy, that’ll surely play a factor in how he performs going forward.
