DraftKings PGA presents the DFS community with several showdown contests for the final round of The American Express! Let’s take a look at my DraftKings player selections for the final round showdown contest!

Before I discuss my DraftKings PGA player picks, I want to emphasize that this article is focused on the final round showdown contest which is vastly different with regard to scoring than the traditional classic contest that DraftKings offers for golf.

For those readers that are not aware, the classic contest offered by DraftKings focuses on an entire golf tournament. In direct contrast to the classic contest, the showdown contest focuses on only one round. This article specifically focuses on the final round of The American Express.

If you have additional questions regarding the final round showdown contest, I recommend that you review the rules for this contest on the DraftKings website.

Let’s shift our focus to what I love doing the most! Here are my player selections for the final round showdown contest!

Scottie Scheffler $10,000

If you are looking for a golfer that has the ability to score, look no further as you have found your man. That man’s name is Scottie Scheffler. Let’s take a look at some of Scottie’s key statistics this season  I think these statistics will convince you that Scheffler can score. Scottie is currently ranked second on the PGA Tour in total birdies made (137). Additionally, Scheffler ranks fifth in birdie average (4.89) and ninth in actual scoring average (68.39) this season.

Scheffler also has some impressive recent tournament results. He finished seventh at A Military Tribute at the Greenbrier in September, third at the Bermuda Championship in October, and finally he finished fifth at the RSM Classic in November.

Scheffler will enter the final round of the American Express tied for first place at 21 under par.

Abraham Ancer $9,100

Ancer has performed extremely well in the final round of golf tournaments recently. More specifically, in Ancer’s last five tournaments played on the PGA Tour he has a final round average of 68.2. It should also be noted that Ancer has two top eight finishes in his last three tournaments on the PGA Tour.

I also like the fact that Ancer has played well at The American Express previously. Ancer finished 18th in last year’s American Express. Ancer will enter the final round of this year’s event on Sunday tied for sixth at 15 under par.

Andrew Putnam $7,900

Putnam finished 17th at the 2017 American Express event. Additionally, Andrew has played well this season. Putnam has played seven tournaments to start the new PGA Tour season. In those seven events played, Andrew has an impressive four top 21 finishes. Putnam enters the final round on Sunday tied for sixth with a score of 15 under par.

Sepp Straka $6,500

Straka finished fourth at the Houston Open in October. More importantly, he has played outstanding through the first three rounds of The American Express. Straka will enter the final round of the tournament in a tie for ninth place with a score of 14 under par.

Tim Wilkinson $6,300

Wilkinson arrives on the final round showdown slate at the low Draftkings price of only $6,300. Wilkinson enters the final round of the American Express at a score of 14 under par which is good enough for a tie for ninth place. in my opinion, Wilkinson is worth placing in my Draftkings lineup. His low cost allows me to have more cost flexibility in my lineup construction.

Those are my five player selections for the final round showdown. If you use these five players in your lineup, you have $10,200 to select your final golfer to complete your lineup!

As always, good luck! Enjoy the final round of The American Express!
