2020 NFL mock draft: Miami Dolphins trade up for Tua Tagovailoa
By Brad Weiss
The New England Patriots were stunned in the division round, as the Tennessee Titans came into town and possibly ended Tom Brady’s run as the team’s quarterback. Rumors are swirling around that Brady could be leaving the Patriots, a team he led to six Super Bowl titles, but at age 42, they may be ready to move on.
My money would go on Brady staying around for one more year, and if that is the case, they have to go out and get some more talent around him. The Patriots had a terrible situation at wide receiver all season long, and with pick No. 23, they bring in a speedy talent in Jalen Reagor from TCU.
N’Keal Harry came on towards the end of the season, and is a good, big wide receiver, and Reagor would be a perfect compliment to him in the passing game. Brady has some left in the tank, and you know the Patriots are going to do everything they can this offseason to once again be a favorite in the AFC in 2020.
The New Orleans Saints lost at home in the Divisional Round last month, and quarterback Drew Brees had one of the worst games we have seen from him in a while. Still, the thought is that Brees will once again be back with the team in 2020, as he is currently a free agent, but it is the guys behind him who will likely need to be replaced.
Teddy Bridgewater went 5-0 as the starter when Brees went down, and you have to think some team is going to give him a chance to start in 2020. Taysom Hill may be looking to move on as well, so with pick No. 24, it is possible the Saints take a shot at Utah State’s Jordan Love, who has turned heads at the Senior Bowl.
Brees is not going to play forever, and in Love, they would be getting a talented quarterback who needs time to develop. It would not be surprising if the Saints were back at the top of the NFC South once again in 2020, and with a legitimate successor in place for Brees, the organization would be much more comfortable eventually moving on from him.
