Trevon Diggs. 25. player. 60. . Cornerback. Minnesota Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings fell in the Divisional Round to the eventual NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers, though they have an impressive Wild Card round win against the New Orleans Saints. Still, this is a franchise that will have to improve in some key spots this offseason, including along the offensive line, and at cornerback.

At pick No. 25, the Vikings make a play for one of their star’s little brothers, bringing in Trevon Diggs to match up with big brother Stefon for the 2020 season. The younger Diggs is one of the more explosive cornerbacks in this draft class, and many experts have him as the No. 1 player at his position this April.

Adding the younger brother to this roster could also cool some of the talk that Stefon wants out of Minnesota, but more importantly, it bolsters one of the weaker position groups on this roster. The Vikings have the talent to be a perennial playoff team, and in Diggs, they bring in someone who can start right away on a very good defense.

Edge. Detroit Lions. Yetur Gross-Matos. 26. player. 50.

The Detroit Lions get two first round picks in our latest mock, this after trading with the Miami Dolphins so the Fins can move up to No. 3 and select Tua Tagovailoa before teams like Los Angeles and Carolina can. After adding the best cornerback in this draft class at No. 5 overall, they bolster the pass rush at No. 26, bringing in two players who can impact their defense immediately.

Yetur Gross-Matos from Penn State is a good-looking NFL edge rush prospect, and the feeling is that he is one of the top-4 edge rushers in this draft class. The Lions struggled to get after the quarterback last season, and bringing in him, along with a shutdown corner early in round one, they all of a sudden are much better against the pass.

Playing in a division with guys like Kirk Cousins and Aaron Rodgers, you have to be adept at stopping the passing game. In addition, if they ever get deep in the NFC playoffs, there are more elite signal-callers to combat, so these two guys make a ton of sense, and enable the Lions to get so much better on defense in 2020.
