2020 NFL mock draft: Miami Dolphins trade up for Tua Tagovailoa
By Brad Weiss
For the first time in 50 years, the Kansas City Chiefs are headed to the Super Bowl, as they dismantled the Tennessee Titans in the AFC title game this past weekend. The Titans had been the Cinderella story of this postseason, beating the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens on the road, but they ran into a buzz-saw on Sunday.
Led by the strong right arm of Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs were pretty much unstoppable on offense once they got going, and their defense did a solid job against Titans star running back Derrick Henry. All told, this is a defense that has really taken strides in the second half of the season, and they head into the Super Bowl looking like a complete team.
One area they should look to target during the draft is up front along the offensive line, especially in the middle. Tyler Biadasz is one of the better interior offensive linemen in this draft class, can play both guard and center, and after playing his college ball at Wisconsin, should have no problem playing in the cold Missouri weather.
The San Francisco 49ers are the kings of the NFC, after beating the Green Bay Packers pretty handily in the NFC Championship Game this past Sunday. Let by their incredible run game, the 49ers got out to an early start against the Packers, scoring 17 unanswered, before cruising to the victory.
As it stands now, the 49ers would hold the last pick in the 2020 NFL Draft’s first round, and with that pick, they should bring in some youth to their cornerback room. Sure, Richard Sherman can still play at a high level, but C.J. Henderson is an incredibly athletic corner, and best-case scenario for him would be learning under Sherman early in his career.
It has been quite the turnaround for this franchise, which seems poised to be a menace in the NFC for years to come. It will be interesting to see how their defense does against the high-powered offense of the Chiefs, but one thing is for sure, they have the bodies up front to make like hell for Patrick Mahomes all day long.
