It’s hard to find true, lasting happiness in the NBA. Yes, we’re talking about guys in their 20s and 30s getting paid millions of dollars to play a game, but money can’t buy you happiness, and oftentimes, we see plenty of disgruntled players leading up to the annual NBA Trade Deadline.

Whether that unhappiness is due to a lack of role or consistent minutes, a shaky relationship with coaches or fellow teammates, being stuck on a losing team, not getting the desired contract or a myriad of other possible reasons, every season we hear about plenty of big names who are already hoping for a trade to their next destination.

When the spirit of competition, winning and losing, egos, millions of dollars and unrelenting media coverage are all involved, it’s no surprise that sometimes, the union between a player and his team ends in trade speculation. Not every acquisition can work out perfectly for both parties, and whether it’s teams looking to improve their roster or players forcing their way out, every year we see plenty of notable moves.
